Route information

Introduced by Acorn Trails in 2019, the South By Five races were well received by locals runners. Based on the iconic Glasgow race, The Southside Six, South By Five visits each of the six parks over a 10 week period. A 5km event is held in each park, with runners able to enter single events or the whole series (the whole series requires early booking so give Acorn Trails a follow across Facebook, Twitter, Strava, Instagram or join their Run Club to keep up to date. Whole series package is closed for 2021).

The six parks are:

All races start at 10.30am

Enter Linn Park race via Entry Central.

Linn Park really is a gem of a park. The South Side is spoiled for choice!

The race starts near the Clarkston Road entrance at the Netherlee side and includes two loops of the park to complete the 5k. The route basically follows the tree line so there’s a good chance it’ll be a slippy mudfest.

It’s a nice gentle start as you cross over the White Bridge and take a left to follow the White Cart Water towards the Low Wood. A wee incline soon turns into a steep climb as you head towards the Top Wood, then try stay on your feet as you race back down towards the bridge to start your second and final loop.

To finish, cross back over the bridge and back to the start point.

Get in amongst it! Another cracker from Acorn Trails.
