Starting on Kelvin Way, this route provides an easy to follow 5k through the park consisting of two loops.
Head along Kelvin Way then down into the park at the traffic lights and over the bridge. Follow the main path as it swings round to the left with a gradual incline. As the path then swings round to the right you’ll feel the need to work harder as it gets steeper heading to the Lord Roberts Monument with great views.
Continue on the main path as it descends then, for the first loop only, take a right towards the Stewart Memorial Fountain, running around it and back to rejoin the path and follow the perimeter back to Kelvin Way.
For the second loop repeat as above but don’t include the detour to the fountain.
It’s not a 5k route for a PB but it’s nice and simple, features closed roads on Kelvin Way and will give you a decent workout if you push it on the hills.
